We have had a lot of fun collecting ideas and supplies and making sample projects for the Ladies’ Craft Day at camp, and Saturday was the big day! We had four project stations set up in the gym (and a snack station to round out the atmosphere).
We painted Christmas tree ornaments, stamped cards, made wood stick nativities, and decoupaged fall leaf candleholders. Ladies could choose whatever projects they wanted to work on, and we
had an ambitious group — I think most tried their hand at all four! The projects looked great, and ladies all seemed to enjoy the day out with friends. We enjoyed a soup and sandwich lunch, and took some time to consider the life of Dorcas and the example she offered as she used her handiwork to influence others for the Lord.
Our children were as excited about the day as anyone else. Breanna headed up the candleholder project and sang a duet with her Aunt Gretchen. Brielle played the lap harp for the ladies, and Beth challenged them with some “What Am I” quizzes from the Bible. Blake even got in on the action, making sure microphones were set right, and helping the ladies out with some sanding on the wood project.
